THE Angler and Antelope Guesthouse, in Somerset East, offers a unique Eastern Cape experience, providing the ambience of yesteryear with all the modern comforts of today. The guesthouse, a historical building, features most of the original oregon of 1893. Each of the six en-suite air-conditioned bedrooms captures the grace and elegance of the Victorian era, boasting goose down duvets and cotton percale. The bathrooms (with underfloor heating) are something to behold, reflecting characteristics of generations that inhabited the home previously. The culinary centre, an old church built in 1906, boasts a spirited character.
Trout fishing can be enjoyed on top of the Boschberg mountain range in picturesque stillwaters, or in the indigenous forest’s pools. Alternatively, you can challenge the yellowfish of the Fish River system or be tempted to fish their trophy bass waters.
