LAKE ST. BERNARD

LAKE St Bernard is situated on the St Bernard’s Peak road off the R617 in the Southern Drakensberg. The 68 hectare lake is on a privately-owned farm that is home to many species of buck and wildlife.

Excellent trout fishing is offered all year round with dams well stocked with trophy trout that are fished on a catch-and-release basis.

The units are well equipped with fireplaces and endless supplies of wood. Bed linen is provided, but towels and extra blankets (for winter) must be brought along. The chalet at the lake operates on gas and sleeps six. The two country houses have electricity and are comfortably furnished to sleep 10 and 16 respectively.

Hiking, rock art, fishing, bird watching, buck viewing and horse riding is available at the nearby hotel (less than 2km away).
No shooting, powerboats or pets are permitted on the farm.
