TIFFINDELL ALPINE RETREAT
DEEP in the southern Drakensberg, in the quiet of the highest mountain in the Cape, where the purest water springs from the earth, lies a retreat from civilisation. Tiffindell Alpine Retreat is where melting snows keep rivers running crystal-clear in winter, while summer rains bring greenness to the valleys that resemble the Scottish Highlands.
Tiffindell’s guests have a range of accommodation to choose from, from private chalets to rooms in the lodge. During the day you can go on tranquil walks to Ben McDhui, waterfalls and isolated valleys, or spend your time flyfishing some lovely trout waters. Otherwise, you can, of course, try your hand at grass skiing, mountain biking or horseriding.
Remember, however, to bring warm clothes because, at 2 720m above sea level), it can snow at any time of the year.
From your first welcoming drink, through to your final goodbye, their friendly staff will look after you and provide entertainment in this unique African environment. The mountain is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy nature at her best!
